About

Mike’s Prattle is my “leftovers” blog where I write about things that interest me, other than music which I collaboratively blog on at Outer Music Diary and incense at the Olfactory Rescue Service.  These interests tend to be hermetics, literature, TV, and in rare cases basketball. I don’t tend to write about hermetics which is often counterproductive, but it does inform my viewpoints on just about everything else. Bookwise I tend to speculative fiction, esoterica and unique literature. All over the map with TV but some of my favorite shows are The Wire, Deadwood, The Shield, Doctor Who, Life on Mars, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I’m a Sacramento Kings fan.

If you’re interesting in contacting me or have questions, my e-mail address can be found at the top of this page. Please keep in mind I post from different computers and may not be able to reply to e-mail until the weekend.

    Hello from Canada

I’ve used a portion of your review from Lucius Shepard “Arcevoalo” on my SF site…

I am so excited I found your website. I love fine incense and enjoy reading your reviews. It really helps me to decide which ones to buy. You are like the Robert Parker for incense.

    Thanks!

Hi Monica, thanks for the kind words. It’s interesting you mention Robert Parker as well, as for a year or two I was a viticulture and enology major at UC Davis, which probably does figure into the reviewing some. Hope the reviews are helping you find some new favorites. 🙂 – mike
